Supervisor Essentials Certificate

Stepping into a supervisor role means more than taking on new responsibilities it requires a new set of skills for leading people, managing performance, and navigating the day-to-day challenges of a team. This five-session certificate course is designed for new and emerging supervisors who want practical tools to lead with greater confidence and effectiveness. Participants will strengthen their communication and coaching skills, learn how to navigate difficult conversations, build stronger teams, and manage competing priorities while continuing to grow as leaders.

The program includes five in-person sessions, each held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and all five sessions are included in the certificate price.

Session 1: Making the Transition: From Individual Contributor to Supervisor 11/9/2026

Moving into supervision requires a shift from focusing primarily on your own work to supporting the success of others. This session explores the changing role of the supervisor, how to establish credibility and expectations, and the foundational skills needed to step confidently into leadership.

Session 2: Communicating Like a Leader 11/16/2026

Effective supervision starts with effective communication. Participants will explore practical strategies for communicating clearly, listening actively, adapting to different communication styles, and creating an environment where employees feel informed, heard, and supported.

Session 3: Supervising Performance & Having Difficult Conversations 11/23/2026

Managing performance means addressing both what is going well and what needs to change. This session gives supervisors practical tools for setting expectations, providing meaningful feedback, coaching employees, addressing performance concerns, and approaching difficult conversations with clarity and confidence.

Session 4: Leading High-Performing Teams 11/30/2026

Strong supervisors don't just manage individuals they create the conditions for their entire team to succeed. Participants will explore strategies for delegation, employee engagement, motivation, development, and building a team culture rooted in trust, accountability, and shared success.

Session 5: Managing Change, Priorities & Yourself 12/7/2026

Supervisors are often balancing the needs of their team, organizational priorities, and their own workload while navigating change. This final session focuses on managing competing priorities, leading through change and uncertainty, making effective decisions, and developing the habits needed to continue growing as a leader.
