This Emergency Preparedness Training Series is presented by OneOC in partnership with the American Red Cross and made possible through funding from the Edison International Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness Grant.
Being prepared starts with having the right supplies on hand before an emergency occurs. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the essential components of household preparedness, including emergency preparedness kits, household plans, and registration for emergency alerts. All three are important for a prepared household!
Guided by an American Red Cross preparedness expert, participants will assemble their own starter emergency kit to take home, providing a practical first step toward household readiness. The workshop will also cover how to customize and expand the kit over time based on individual needs, family size, pets, and local hazards. By the end of the session, participants will leave with both a completed starter kit and the knowledge needed to continue building their preparedness for future emergencies.
